About Us

Our Story

 

Chobham Rider is a family business; 3 sisters who grew up riding and competing on ponies and horses and joined forces in 2003 to run Chobham Rider alongside our father. We now balance our passion for horses (and other animals) with families and running our saddlery in Chobham High Street. We have a great team, all of whom are also passionate about horses. The combination of our different perspectives and the focus on different equestrian disciplines among our staff means that Chobham Rider offers a wealth of expertise. We also try out and test most products ourselves to make sure that they work!

We have had a website for as long as we have run the shop. However, it has been very limited. Our new website was launched in May 2015, after almost six months of hard labour by us and Anthony at Fingertip Media. This is a new chapter in our story and we are very excited to start it!

We hope that you enjoy your shopping experience with us, and if you have any feedback, we would like to hear from you, good or bad. Athough we prefer the good, we need to know the bad!

Our Missions

Our mission is to provide our customers with a range of carefully selected, good quality products for in and around the stable yard, in the competition arena and for outdoor life. We work with suppliers that value high performance items and good customer service.

We carefully consider new items before we add them to our stock and we always value quality above everything else - we want you to be happy with your purchases long term.

Our Values

We value all of our customers and we want our shop to be a horse-lovers heaven. We love it when customers intervene when we are serving another customer to tell them how amazing their Ariat boots are, or how a particular fly spray seems to work better in different situations, or just to have a chat about how great their jump lesson was that morning. We like hearing about your successes and failures and also vaue your feedback on our products - good or bad.

We are not sales people and we do not offer staff any commission on sales. We aim to provide excellent customer service and great advice to all of our customers. We spend as much time with each customer as they need and are always happy to order special items. Equally, if we have run out of stock of an item you need, tell us when you need it and we'll do our best to get it for you. We are always happy to exchange goods that are unsuitable, or if customers simply change their mind. Because we value our time, and hope you do too, we do not offer refunds in our shop, but will exchange or offer a credit note. We do offer refunds on items purchased on the web, because we recognise that shopping online can be tricky. We never exchange riding hats - we need to know that the hat we are selling you has never been dropped or damaged in any way, and if the hat has left the shop, we cannot be 100% certain of this.

Our Prices

We always sell at, or even below manufacturers recommended retail prices. We are a shop and we like to offer advice and service. We hope you will not find the items we sell cheaper elsewhere.

However, we want to offer long term service to our customers, and we offer quality assurance - if you have a quality issue with something we sell you, we want to know. Equally, if you call us, we will answer the phone and if you come into our shop, we will talk to you! Therefore, please understand that we have to price our products in a sustainable way. However, if you do find products cheaper elsewhere, please tell us.
