The revolutionary bit from Sprenger allows control of the horse, without increasing the severity of the bit:
- The bit is made of Aurigan, which encourages your horse to salivate - like copper - but without any of the reactions that can occur with traditional copper/nickel bits.
- The lozenge is positioned in such a way that it will not bruise the roof of your horse's mouth.
- Instead, the lozenge sits on the horse's tongue, taking advantage of it's sensitivity and allowing instructions from the reins to communicate with the tongue, rather than pressing on the roof of the mouth.
- New research by Sprenger has shown that the horse's mouth does not have a lot of spare room for a bit, so a thicker bit (traditional considered to be softer) is not actually required.
